It is useful in any situation you may need handy sturdy rope. No rope at hand? Recycle a bottle - make the rope! The rope itself is very solid - it can be used both in the household and in handicrafts. Secure torn hammock? Make a chair?!

All types of bottles: water, juice can be cut with bottle cutter. Ruffled bottles need to hold a minute of heat with the lid closed - the heated air flatten the entire relief and a bottle will become smooth. Here is a video of the whole process: https://youtu.be/JMbT4DOi21U?t=28

For its thickness, it is very strong, only one bottle can be used to pull a car out of the ditch! It all depends on the bottle, but the tape of the ordinary Coca-Cola with a width of 4 mm can withstand a load of seven kg. Our first sample was kept in the sun and on the street for two years now and it still holds the load.

No need. One blade segment is enough for hundreds of meters of rope. We have not changed the blade of our test cutter at all! No other service is necessary. Excessive humidity is not recommended.

The corners of the string are rather sharp, you can distinctly feel the corner with fingers - but it does not hurt the skin(if normal using). Together with Pavel we have cut few kilometers of ropes during our tests and the rope does not hurt normal skin, not more than usual rope.

But if you wish to obtain the smooth corners - you can put the string into boiling water for a 1-2 seconds - corners will become smooth, but pay attention to general deformation it can be very surprizing! Actually we are looking how to make corners smoother without hot water.

We advise to use four segments at once, but you can cut bottles with three or even two.

Because of flexible position of the blade - you can use it for very-very long time.

As it is fixed in optimal cutting position - deformation of the blade is minimal. But if the blade becomes blunt - you have just to move it one millimeter left or right - so it will use sharp part of the blade again.
Because of constant angle of cut and minimal point of contact four segments of standard 9mm blade can be used for months. We were very surprised cutting more than 100 of bottles with the same blade during our tests!

You don’t need to heat the bottles to upcycle them. We heating bottle in video just to remove the ridges and irregularities on it.

Gently heating do not modify the quality of plastic, just flatterns the bottle iregularity( for exemple you can making round bottle from any square bottle just by heating it, as all the bottles are made from round billet. Take a look on this nice video: https://youtu.be/ZfyPCujUPms… )

For common flat-surface bottles you don’t have to heat them, and you can cut them at any temperature (device was tested on bottle cooled to +5 celsius).

The bottle must remain closed during the heating so hot air inside “blows” bottle to its billet state, but pay attention, do not overheat it or approach the bottle close to heat source, in theory may cause damage to bottle or the bottle owner.

Some people are saying “but it’s still plastic, it’s not good for the environment” blablabla Where do you want it to go exactly? It’s already been done. Plastic bottle EXISTS NOW and we can’t stop that completely so might as well think smart and accept it instead of just throwing it away. This is a good way to reuse plastic bottles besides making it into a flower pot or pencil holder. Do YOU have any bright ideas?

With all ours respect to all inventors and their crafts, this plastic bottle cutter is our own invention.
The idea of cutting the PET bottles to strings is very old, I have seen a man attaching his tent with hand cut bottle almost twenty years ago in 1997, since that date you can find many different ways to cut PET bottles. Now it’s absolutely impossible to define the first “inventor” of idea of cutting the bottles.
Just to be clear - we have never said that we invented idea of bottle strings, but we are offering device which can cut bottles AND can be carried in pocket.
Plastic bottle cutter allows you to work in easiest way without special table, reel, fixation, big pin of 30cms to fix the bottle and other troublesome parts.
If you have some patience - you could find some brasilian videos of various factory cutters which can cut 10 bottles per minute, some of them are are more than 10 years old. All of them are different.
